In 2050, rare earths are no longer accessible and the Thwaites Glacier in Antarctica has collapsed. Submerged coastlines and obsolete tech define life. Revolutionary magnetic crystals buried deep within Antarctica’s mountains could resurrect the modern era—but mining them will trigger a global catastrophe.
Carlos Perez, a ruthless scientist, boards a pleasure cruise to the Antarctic Peninsula, determined to recover his samples at the Chilean base the passengers will tour. Also aboard is Diana, a widowed scientist seeking adventure and healing. When she stumbles upon a crystal and begins to investigate, Carlos is enraged. No one— specially this American—will stop him from claiming his destiny as the “Father of the Digital Renaissance.”
The CIA is also aboard and China is watching. When Carlos strands Diana and fellow campers in the frozen wilderness as a violent cyclone bears down, she realizes the truth: survival is not guaranteed.
