Who do you trust?
Private pilot Cassie Deakin expects just another routine flight—until she lands at her beloved Uncle Charlie’s remote ranch and discovers he’s been badly beaten and left for dead. Determined to find the man who attacked her uncle, Cassie teams up with Deputy Frank White (a man she doesn’t trust), and plunges into the investigation.
But Cassie and Frank realize they’ve stumbled into something much darker than they anticipated when their probe uncovers the long-forgotten murder of eight-year-old Lacey Alderson. Not knowing who she can trust, and working with only one cryptic clue, Cassie’s courage and determination move her ever closer to a deadly climax.
Moments of simmering tension blend with light-hearted humor as Cassie’s wit bumps up against Frank’s serious nature. Quirky secondary characters, and even an old horse named Dan, add spice and enjoyment to this multi-layered mystery.
