When a skier is mysteriously shot during a scheduled avalanche mitigation, it’s discovered the victim is Todd Radford, the ex-husband of Sheriff Sam Winslow’s former girlfriend. All evidence, though circumstantial, points to Sam as the prime suspect. With agents from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation on his tail and with a lack of alibi, Sam is arrested and suspended as sheriff.
Even though the Sheriff’s Department isn’t allowed to investigate the murder, Sam’s deputies promise him they’ll do their best to clear him of the charge. He puts his faith into his team to uncover the truth before it’s too late.
