To avoid snow duty, a Duluth police homicide squad latched onto a fatal accident during a blizzard. Claiming it looked suspicious, they are allowed to investigate rather than ride on snowmobiles and respond to minor incidents. After all, one of their own, Consultant Milo Rathkey, witnessed the car careen down icy Mesaba Avenue only to be crushed by a falling power pole.
